HEPTA
Privacy policy
Last updated 8 November 2026
Hepta is a daily puzzle game. This page explains what information Hepta keeps, why, and what you can do about it. Hepta has no adverts, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and never sells or shares your information for advertising.
What we keep
- An account ID. When you first play, the app creates a random ID so your times can be checked and saved. It isn't linked to your name unless you sign in.
- Your puzzle times. When you started and finished each puzzle, time while the game was on screen, hints used, and how many times you paused or took a screenshot during play (used only to spot cheating).
- If you sign in with Apple or Google: the account identifier Apple or Google gives us, and the display name you choose. If they share your email address, we keep only a one-way hash of it, so friends who already know your email can find you. We never store the address itself.
- A profile photo, if you add one. Before anyone can see it, it is checked automatically with Amazon Rekognition for inappropriate content.
- Friends. Who you're friends with, and friend requests you send or receive.
- Hepta+ purchases. Whether you have Hepta+ and when it renews, as confirmed by Apple. Apple handles all payments; we never see your card details.
- Reports. If you report a name or photo, we keep the report so it can be reviewed.
Who can see what
- If you're signed in and finish a day, your display name, photo and times appear on the public leaderboards.
- Your friends can see your times for each puzzle. So can other players, for days where you're on the public leaderboard.
- Signed-in players can find you by your display name, or by your exact sign-in email address.
- Guests (not signed in) never appear on leaderboards or in search.
Where it's stored
Hepta runs on Amazon Web Services in London (eu-west-2). Profile photos are served through Amazon CloudFront. Sign-in uses Apple and Google; payments use Apple.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Deleting your account
In the app, open your profile and tap Delete account. This permanently deletes your name, photo, times, streak, friends, requests and search entries, and unlinks Apple or Google (including revoking Hepta's access to your Apple ID). It cannot be undone.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask any question about this policy by emailing louie@louie.cloud. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Children
Hepta is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
